Tour Plan
Trip to Kalabsha Temple and Nubian Museum
You will meet our representative in Aswan and, together, you will head to the Kalabsha Temple, located on the shores of Lake Nasser, about one kilometer from the High Dam. The building, which was built in the late Ptolemaic period and completed during the reign of Augustus, was dedicated to the local god Mandulis, an ancient Nubian deity dressed in a cloak covered with vulture feathers. Its hypostyle room, consisting of eight columns, is embellished with hieroglyphics and reliefs depicting Greek rulers in the adoration of Egyptian gods.
The tour will continue with a visit to the Nubian Museum, where many examples of Nubian art are collected and where various moments of the daily life of these ancient people have been reconstructed. In the Museum you can admire the large statue of Ramesses II that dominates the large hall and is illuminated by a wise play of light. Among the various exhibits, there are precious collections dating back to different periods, from the ancient Egyptian period until the Islamic conquest.
At the end of the visit, you will return to your hotel in Aswan.
