Tour to Valley of the Queens and Mummification Museum

The “Valley of the Queens and Mummification Museum” tour will lead you to the discovery of the most exclusive attractions of the western shore: the Valley of the Queens and the Mummification Museum. The first site is known as the home of the Pharaoh’s wives and children. In addition to Pharaoh’s spouses, many members of the nobility were buried here. Near the Valley of the Queens is the most famous and visited Valley of the Kings, near ancient Thebes, today’s Luxor. This arid expanse was chosen for its relatively isolated location but still close to the capital.

It is said to contain more than 70 tombs decorated with valuable paintings. The site was built entirely during the reign of Ramesses I. Afterwards, you will be guided to the Mummification Museum. This unique museum contains any kind of find, testimony or information about the mummification process.

The ancient Egyptians believed that to reach the afterlife it was essential to keep the name and body of the person intact so that the soul could be transported to the other life. For this purpose, the ritual of mummification was developed for the preservation of the body. The museum contains numerous mummies of humans and animals, as well as a large collection of instruments and canopic jars used during the ritual.

Prices are shown in US dollars per person per trip and can be paid in EUR or GBP.
