Day 3: Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Kerak
Day 4: Petra Visit
After breakfast, take a 2.5-hour trip to the rose-red City of Petra, which is the best thing to see in Jordan. When the Nabataean Arabs began building in the 6th century B.C., they cut facades into the walls of the mountain. From the tourist center, the Siq entrance is a 700-meter walk. The Siq is a brightly colored, 1,200-meter-long canyon that rises more than 80 meters above your head and leads to a beautiful treasure.
When you come out of the abyss, Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, strikes you with its beauty. After seeing Petra, you'll go back to the Siq and then to your hotel in Petra for the night.
Day 5: Baptism site – Mukawir – Dead Sea
Before you leave your Petra hotel in the morning, your tour manager will pick you up and take you to the Baptism Site (Bethany), where Jesus Christ was baptized by St. John the Baptist, before bringing you back to Petra. As a place where Catholics go on pilgrimages, it is one of the three most popular places to visit right now. Drive to Herod Antipas's old fortress at Mukawer (Machaerus). Herod ordered St. John the Baptist to be locked up here after Salome's dance went wrong.
After this, we'll go to the Dead Sea, which is the lowest place on Earth and has a lot of minerals that can help people with health problems. Minerals in the mud are used both in medicine and in beauty products. Legend says that both Cleopatra and Sheba knew how important the site was and used it to their advantage. It's called the Dead Sea because there are no living things in it and it's easy to float on top of it. Spend the night at the Dead Sea Hotel and get ready to relax in the pool and mud bath.
