The Temple of Esna is a temple dedicated to the goddess Esna.
The city of Esna is home to several ancient Egyptian temples, including some of the most well-known in the world. When it comes to Ancient Egyptian civilization, Esna was one of the most prestigious cities. During the Roman and Ptolemaic periods, the Roman and Ptolemaic influences can be seen in the temples in the surrounding area, including the Temple of Esna, also known as the Temple of Khnum, which is still standing today.
What is the location of the Temple of Esna?
The village of Esna, which is located on the west bank of the Nile, is 485 kilometers from the current capital of Cairo. Esna, also known as Senat in ancient Egypt and Latopolis by the Greeks, is the site of the Temple of Esna, which is also known as “the city of the fish ” (because the perch fish was revered as a holy creature).

The sky Goddess Nut, the Dog Star, Orion’s belt, and the constellation Alpha Draconis may all be seen on the left side of the Temple’s entrance gate (or the Dragon Star).
You may see reliefs of birds, as well as images of the God Horus, the God of triumph, and the God Khnum, who is pulling a net full of fish from the Nile, on the western wall of the façade of the Temple, on the western wall of the façade of the Temple. The fact that the Roman Emperor Dios finished the hieroglyphic writings at the foot of this picture is significant since it is the final known hieroglyphic inscription ever documented.
