Who was responsible for its construction?

Kamal El – Mallakh, who was born on October 26, 1918, in Assiut, Egypt, is credited with founding the organization. He was an Egyptologist and cultural researcher who passed away in October 1987 after a long illness.

What was the motivation for its construction?

It was constructed to house the Solar Boat of the great king Cheops, which was found by Kamal El Mallakh in 1954 and is now housed inside it.

Explanation:

The museum is a humidity-controlled pavilion that contains a 141-foot-long boat, which is one of five boat pits that were sunk around Cheops’s pyramid to preserve the artifacts. The boat, which is completely constructed of cedarwood, is more than 120 feet in length and has a displacement of around 40 tonnes.

Also worth mentioning are the boat pits that are located near the pyramid of Cheops, 5 boat pits that are located east of the Great Pyramids, and 2 boat pits located south of the Great Pyramids. The solar boats were reconstructed over 14 years, with the use of U-shaped openings that allowed the boat to be patched together with ropes or vegetable fibers throughout the process. The boat is a whopping 141 feet in length and 20 feet in width.

In terms of the purpose of solar boats, there are several hypotheses. For starters, it was thought that the souls of the deceased followed the sun on its endless voyage through the skies around the globe, therefore a boat or at the absolute least an accurate facsimile of a boat was placed in every tomb. Furthermore, it was employed in religious activities like pilgrimages and the transportation of a god’s statue, among other things.
