    The History of the City

Hurghada began to gain popularity as a tourist destination in the early 1980s as a result of the natural conditions, which included magnificent beaches, coral reefs, vibrantly colored fish, and plenty of sunlight. The investors launched their tourism projects in the region by constructing resorts and hotels; now, Hurghada has over 350 hotels and resorts, as well as a large number of travel agencies, transportation agents, diving schools, diving centers, and safari agents, among others.
