When to visit Egypt?
The best time to visit Egypt is from October to April, when temperatures are at their most pleasant. However, December and January constitute peak tourist season, and iconic sights like the Pyramids of Giza, the Temples of Luxor, and Abu Simbel can get uncomfortably crowded. In addition, rates at Red Sea resorts are at their most expensive.
Temperatures in July and August make daytime sightseeing difficult.
In Cairo averaging around 68°F/ 20°C. At night, In summer, temperatures reach an average of 95°F/ 35°C, exacerbated by intense humidity.
Best time to have the Nile Cruise at Luxor and Aswan
With this in mind, the best time to book a Nile Cruise is between October and April. Temperatures are manageable at this time of year, allowing you to get the most out of day trips to iconic sights like The Valley of the Kings and the Temples of Luxor. For the same reasons, the weather during the peak summer months from June to August is sweltering. Best Time to Visit Egypt’s Western Desert ( White and Black desert, Siwa Oasis)
During winter, nighttime temperatures can plummet to just below freezing, so the best time to visit is halfway between the two in either spring or autumn. February to April and September to November are the optimum times temperature-wise.
Traveling to Egypt During Ramadan
Ramadan is the Muslim holy month of fasting, and the dates change every year according to the dates of the Islamic calendar. In 2016, for example, Ramadan was held from June 6th – to July 7th, while the 2017 dates are from May 27th – to June 24th. Tourists are not expected to fast when visiting Egypt during Ramadan.

3- Are there direct flights from USA to Egypt?
Yes, EgyptAir, the Egyptian official airline, organizes direct flights from the United States to Cairo in particular. There is a flight from New York, the JFK Airport, direct to Cairo five times a week. The journey takes approximately 12 hours. Egypt Air also flies from Los Angles directly to Cairo. This journey takes approximately 17 hours; however, most tourists coming from the United States stop either in Europe (usually London or Paris) or in North Africa (usually Morocco).
4- If I am arriving in the Cairo Airport coming from USA, which terminal will I be landing at?
Your arrival terminal depends on the airline that you are using. Western European and American airlines mostly use terminal number 3, which is also called the New Terminal in Egypt. On the other hand, Egypt Air, Arab, African, and Eastern European airlines usually land in terminal number 1.
5-How Far is Cairo International Airport from downtown?
Cairo airport is located 22 KM to the south east of the city, you trip should takes around 30 to 45 Minutes. , make sure to leave your hotel at least

1-How hot does it get?
The hottest months are June, July, and August when maximum temperatures range between 34C/95F in Cairo and 41C/107F in Luxor and Aswan.

1- Are there certain vaccinations to be taken before traveling to Egypt?
There are no obligatory vaccinations that should be taken before being granted a visa to Egypt. However, it would be recommended for the senior people and for young children to take vaccinations against Hepatitis C, Typhoid, and an oral dosage of Tetanus.
2- Are there any health issues that I should worry about in Egypt?
Generally speaking, tourists face few unique health problems in Egypt, but occasionally travelers experience some gastric disturbance resulting from drinking tap water or eating from a local restaurant not recommended by their tour guides or the receptionist in the hotel. Some travelers might suffer sunburn or heat stroke from the heat and sun during the summer if they are not careful; however, taking the proper precautions and drinking bottled water can eliminate any health risks.

Clothes & What to Wear?
Egypt is a conservative Muslim country and it is much more progressive than the other Arab Nations,
No topless or nude bathing is permitted.
In winter it can get cold at night in Egypt. Often it is warmer in the street than it is inside buildings, so it is a good idea to bring a casual jacket or shawl. The buildings are not designed to be cool and it is good to be aware of this. Here it’s very rare to have central heating or central air conditioning except in big hotels and other high-class places.

Food in Egypt
1- What’s the food like in Egypt?
Egyptian cuisine is not unlike the cuisine of Turkey, Syria and other Middle Eastern countries. The basic staple centers on pulses – fuul medames (fava beans often served with vegetables and boiled egg) and ta’amiyya (chickpea patties) though visitors to Egypt are more likely to encounter a delicious spread to meats accompanied by salads, rice, seasoned vegetables, and mezzes. Houmous and other yogurt-based dips, coupled with fresh pitta, schwarma (similar to a Turkish doner kebab), kofta (a skewered spiced meat dish) and fiteer (a kind of pizza) are other popular dishes.
The lunchtime bargain has to be kosheri, though – a curious mix of noodles, rice, lentils, fried onion and spicy sauce. It’s very tasty and exceedingly cheap. Bread is a staple of Egyptian cuisine and you’ll a version served with every meal. Vegetarians should find plenty of options with stuffed peppers, grilled aubergine and baked squash popular meat-free dishes in Egypt.
Exotic juices freshly squeezed from the fruits of mango, guava and other seasonal varieties are also widely available, as is fresh fruit. Alcohol is not readily available as Egypt is a predominantly Islamic country though the major hotel chains usually have well-stocked bars.

1-What is the official currency in Egypt?
The official currency of Egypt is the Egyptian pound or “Geneh” in Arabic and is commonly abbreviated as LE. There are banknotes of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 LE and there are coins of 25 piastres, 50 piastres, and 1 pound. It can sometimes be difficult to find change for large bills so it is always advisable to have change on hand for taxis and tips.

Credit cards are widely used in Egypt in hotels, many shops, restaurants, and cafes. Most stores in markets like Khan El Khalili and the Luxor touristic market accept credit cards. The most common types of credit cards used in Egypt are Visa, Master Card, and American Express.

There are many touristic areas in Egypt where special concerns are not necessary; however, in less touristic places, relatively modest dress is recommended. Dressing with relative modesty is a way of respecting the local culture.

Tipping
Is it a common practice to give tips in Egypt?
Due to the low salaries of many professionals in Egypt, many people depend on tips, or baksheesh as it is called in Egypt, as a major part of their income. Therefore, tipping is considered customary in Egypt.
How much should I tip?
The amount depends on the situation. In a restaurant, it is good to give between 5 and 10% tips directly to the waiter even when there is service added to the bill. The service tax does not go to the waiter. For a small favor, like carrying luggage or parking a car, a few Egyptian pounds would be appropriate. Not more than five. Often times in Egypt you will find someone tending to the bathroom to keep it clean. Giving them one Egyptian pound is an appropriate amount.
Tipping your tour guide and vehicle driver is completely optional but should be considered if you’re provided with great service. If you decide to tip feel free to give what you think your experience was worth.
Taking Photos
1-Can I take pictures while visiting the monuments in Egypt?
Photography is allowed in most of the historical sites and museums in Egypt, but some of them have extra charges for taking in a camera. However, in some museums, like the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, and some historical sites, like the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, photography is prohibited and visitors are asked to leave their cameras at the reception before entering.

Egyptians are well known all over the world for their tolerance and hospitality; however, it is always polite to ask permission before taking a photograph of people, especially women, and stores or products. Photography is non-permitted around army bases, airports, dams, bridges, and in metro. In most places where photography is prohibited there will be signs to notify you.

1-What sort of plugs do I need for Egypt and what is the voltage?

Luxor is a 9 hour Train ride and Aswan is a 12 hour Train ride. Another alternative is taking a domestic flight, which takes approximately 1 hour from Cairo
